Re-Gas Energy have the experience and capabilities to develop all aspects of major infrastructure projects. Our projects focus on the following:
BIOMETHANE / BIO CNG / BIO LNG
Biomethane (also known as RNG) is a renewable alternative to natural gas and is derived from upgraded biogas. Our AD Plants produce Biogas from the fermentation of organic matter in anaerobic digestion tanks. Biomethane is biogas from which the by-product carbon dioxide, and other elements have been removed, giving the biomethane the same properties as natural gas, and enabling it to be either injected into the national gas grid or as a transport fuel in the form of CNG or LNG. This therefore provides a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
RENEWABLE POWER
Renewable Electricity and Heat is produced from large Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Engine’s. The CHP uses Biogas as a fuel and converts this into electricity and heat. The electricity derived from this has a low carbon footprint and, because we also utilise the heat, the efficiency of the CHP is maximized.
Our plants mainly use organic waste material and some energy crops which are fed into Anaerobic Digesters to produce the biogas. Thousands of tonnes of organic waste is diverted from landfill each year thanks to this process.
Co2 RECOVERY & CAPTURE
Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) is a carbon removal technique providing a removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. From our Biogas Upgrading process the carbon dioxide (Co2) is captured and taken off-site and stored in geological formations or embedded in long-lasting products. It does not utilise the injected CO2 for enhanced oil recovery. As a result, biomethane production has the potential to be not just net zero but net negative.
BIO FERTILISER
Our AD plants produce thousands of tonnes of environmentally friendly, premium quality, nutrient–rich organic fertiliser each year. The digestate bio-fertiliser is rich in Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K). The digestate is pumped straight from the AD plant, via a pasteurisation process and into our on-site lagoon and then onto surrounding farmland, via underground piping network. The use of carbon-intensive synthetic fertiliser is greatly reduced through this process
WASTE MANAGEMENT
We provide cost effective and sustainable food waste recycling services for local authorities and commercial organisations. We dispose of a huge range of packaged and un-packaged organic wastes, and are able to organise logistics for our clients. By recycling food waste into our Anaerobic Digestion plant, we convert it into green energy and nitrogen-rich fertiliser. We provide full traceability of the waste, as well as certification of destruction once the material has been destroyed.
Working in partnership with investors and project developers RE-GAS will develop, invest, operate, maintain and enhance its assets throughout the project lifecycle.
